Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data the Sport Skillz app ("Sport Skillz", "we") collects, why, who can see it and the choices you have. It covers the Sport Skillz app for iPhone and Android, the Sport Skillz club admin panel and this website.
The short version: we collect what you need to train, get reviewed and share tricks in Sport Skillz. We don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't sell your data. You can delete your account in the app at any time.
Who is responsible
The data controller for Sport Skillz is Per Arne Drevland, an individual based in Norway. Contact us about anything in this policy at support@sport-skillz.com.
Who can use Sport Skillz
Sport Skillz is for people aged 13 and over. We ask for your birth date when you sign up to check this. If you are under 18, please go through this policy with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
What we collect and why

We only use your data to provide Sport Skillz. We do not use it for advertising, we do not profile you for marketing and we do not sell or rent it to anyone. The Sport Skillz apps contain no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract: most processing is needed to provide the app you signed up for (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Legitimate interests: security, preventing abuse and moderating content (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Legal obligation: when the law requires us to keep or share data (Article 6(1)(c)).
Who can see your data
- Other Sport Skillz players in the same sport can see your name, profile photo and player card (which shows your age, not your birth date, and your skill scores). They can also see your Joga Bonito posts and comments, and your recent training submissions in their activity feed.
- Reviewers: your training videos are private. They are only shared, through links that expire, with the players and coaches asked to review them.
- Your club: if you join a club team, the coaches and club admins of that club can see your progress, goals, training time and the drills assigned to you.
- Players you trade with receive a copy of your player card.
- Your email address and birth date are never shown to other players.
Profile photos are stored at web addresses that are hard to guess. Anyone who has the exact address of a photo can open it.
Service providers
We use these providers to run Sport Skillz. They process data only on our instructions.
- Google Cloud (Google Cloud EMEA Ltd and Google LLC): servers and the database, located in the EU (Belgium), and Firebase Hosting for this website and the club admin panel.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: storage and delivery of photos and videos.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, for example in the United States. When they do, the transfer is protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where it applies, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
Device permissions
The app asks for your permission before using your camera and microphone (to record drills and tricks) and your photo library (to pick videos and your profile photo). It only uses them when you choose to. You can turn these permissions off at any time in your phone's settings.
How long we keep data
- We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account (in the app under Profile → Delete Account, or by emailing us), your personal data and content are deleted straight away. The reviews you gave other players stay, without your name, because they are part of those players' scores. Copies in backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
- When you delete a Joga Bonito post or comment, it disappears from the app straight away.
- Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct data that is wrong (you can change your name and photo in the app);
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to some processing;
- receive your data in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email support@sport-skillz.com from the address on your account. We reply within one month. See how to delete your account.
You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, or to the authority in the country where you live.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. Training videos are kept private and shared only through links that expire. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run Sport Skillz.
This website
sport-skillz.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs to deliver and protect the site.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we will also tell you in the app.
